Supervisor of Assessments
General Information
The Supervisor of Assessments office was created by state law to provide statistical and performance data to the Illinois Department of Revenue and to provide technical advice and information to the township assessors and the Board of Review.
The Supervisor of Assessments office maintains the property tax information. This includes all name and address information, assessment values, exemptions, etc.
In addition, the Supervisor of Assessments acts as an equalization authority, a statutory clerk of the Board of Review and correlates the work of the township assessors. They are responsible for publishing assessment change notices and mailing notices to the taxpayers.
